Partly cloudy and seasonal Wednesday

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Partly cloudy skies and near average temperatures are expected Wednesday afternoon with a slim chance for a few showers.
This Evening
It’s been a cloudy day across Middle Georgia with the southern third of the region seeing light rain as expected. A few small showers have reached the middle third of the region. Rain odds will drop this evening and nothing is expected overnight as cloud cover breaks up. Temperatures should drop back below average tonight into the low to mid 50s across the region. The wind will be light out of the northeast around 5 mph.
Tomorrow
More sunshine is expected Wednesday however there will be clouds at all levels during the afternoon. Temperatures will peak in the mid to upper 80s accompanied by light wind generally out of the north. A cold front is expected to move through during the late evening and should be the last chance or rain this work week across Middle Georgia.
Overnight will be mostly clear with temperatures largely expected in the lower 50s. One or two spots may drop just below 50. The wind will flow out of the northwest at 5-10 mph with gusts upwards of 15 mph.
Thursday and Beyond
The aforementioned cold front will bring drier and clearer conditions to Middle Georgia with plenty of sunshine likely to end the week. Thursday and Friday will see below average temperatures however a heat wave is expected to move in over the weekend with some spots reaching the 90s by Saturday afternoon. The heat will carry into the start of the next work week.
