Painted Manholes Popping Up All Over Perry
PERRY, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Paintings are popping up around Perry on the tops of manholes as an effort to add a little color to the city.
The mayor and council are encouraging artists and citizens to paint a picture of themselves. The initiative is called “Lids for Artists.” Mayor Jimmy Faircloth says the concept is popular in Japan.
“It gives Perry an opportunity to showcase it’s artists and it’s citizens, and puts them in the spotlight,” says Mayor Faircloth.
