NWS confirms tornado touchdown in Dodge County

EASTMAN, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – National Weather Service confirms that a weak EF0 Tornado touched down late Wednesday night about a mile east of the hospital in Eastman.  The weak tornado was a very rare tornado in that it was an anticyclonic.  The tornado was rotating clockwise versus the normal counterclockwise.

The winds were around 80 mph with this brief tornado.  The path length of the tornado was 1.75 miles long and the tornado was 100 yards wide.  

The tornado touched down near the hospital and moved north and caused some minor roof damage to homes just east of Highway 117.
