Fire contained after Northside Middle School evacuation

Students and staff safely evacuated before firefighters contained the fire Tuesday morning. The cause was not released.

WARNER ROBINS, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — No students were injured after a small fire led to an evacuation at Northside Middle School Tuesday morning, according to the Houston County School District.

In response to a 41NBC inquiry, the district said the fire started in one of the school’s bathrooms. Students and staff safely evacuated while the fire department responded.

The district said the fire was quickly contained, and students and staff later returned to their classes.

Principal Alma Mundy told parents the school followed its fire evacuation procedures.

The district did not provide information about what caused the fire.
