No injuries in West Macon house fire

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) –  Macon-Bibb Fire investigators are trying to figure out what caused a fire inside a home in West Macon.

Firefighters responded to the scene around 11:30am Friday.

Authorities say two people were outside on the back porch when they smelled smoke at the home on Wallace Drive. They called 911 after attempting to retrieve a fire extinguisher from a neighbor’s house.

Captain Lonnie Anderson says he believes the fire started in the kitchen.

It spread throughout the house causing some extensive damage.

Authorities say no one was injured in this incident.
