Nicer conditions return tomorrow following Memorial Day storms

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The cold front bringing storms to Middle Georgia this afternoon and evening will lead to nicer weather starting tomorrow.
This Evening
Scattered thunderstorms will remain possible through this evening and into early tonight. A Level 2 “Slight” risk for severe weather remains for most of Middle Georgia this evening with a Severe Thunderstorm Watch remaining in effect until 10:00 PM EDT tonight for all counties in the region except for Hancock. Storms will likely bring hail and strong winds. Tornado odds are very slim due to a lack of stronger low-level winds, however the odds are not zero.
Storms should taper off after sunset with cloud cover working to clear out overnight. Low temperatures will be in the upper 60s for most of the region heading into the start of Tuesday. Winds will shift from the southwest to the northwest overnight at around 5-10 mph.
Tomorrow
It will be an overall sunny day around Middle Georgia as the summer heat returns. Highs will reach the upper 80s and lower 90s with breezes out of the northwest coming in at about 5-12 mph. Gusts could reach over 20 mph at times in the afternoon. Scattered cumulus cloud fields are likely during the middle of the day, but they will clear heading into the evening.
Skies will be mostly clear heading into tomorrow night, however a few clouds may arrive ahead of the sunrise on Wednesday. Low temperatures will be in the low to mid 60s around the region with wind staying out of the northwest at about 5-10 mph.
Wednesday and Beyond
Wednesday will be mostly sunny with highs reaching the upper 80s for most of the region. Expect a bit more cloud cover Thursday with a few isolated storms in the afternoon and evening. Sunnier conditions will return Friday.
