Next round of rain arrives tomorrow

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Cloud cover will return Thursday morning ahead of more widespread chilly rain.
This Evening
While many clouds from this morning finally cleared out this afternoon overhead cirrus largely stayed put. Those will remain overhead into the overnight hours. The Full Moon for December, the Long Nights Moon, will also be visible tonight. This may be the only night this week where it is visible as overcast conditions with rain are expected the rest of the way. Tonight’s low temperatures will be around freezing accompanied by light wind from the north-northwest.
Tomorrow
Sunshine is expected during the sunrise hours Thursday morning however during the late morning clouds will return and by lunchtime rain may begin for parts of the region. This will become more widespread as the evening progresses.
Aside from rain expect a chilly day with highs reaching the lower 50s for most of the region. Wind will be light from the west-northwest.
Overnight will see heavier and more widespread rain around the region. Wind will be light from the east-southeast with temperatures expected to valley in the low to mid 40s.
Friday and Beyond
The low pressure will arrive into Georgia from the Gulf Friday afternoon. This will continue the rain throughout the day Friday and into the night. The cold front associated with this low is expected to stall out into the weekend, continuing the rainfall both Saturday and Sunday. Sunshine likely will not return until sometime next week.
