New Year, New Goals for Forsyth
At Tuesday’s first City Council meeting of the year council unanimously voted Joanna Banks as Mayor Pro-Tem. Mayor Tye Howard also announced a 2.7% cost of living raise for city employees. The city’s streetscape project has been ongoing for almost ten years and is finally in full swing as the third phase is approved.
“We’ve been doing a lot of planning, and I think there maybe some things that may come to furition. We’re looking at some other grants opportunities, and we’re also now putting money back into accounts years ago that was taken out.,” said Mayor Howard.
Another big decision city leaders will make is filling the City Administrator position. According to Mayor Howard, the job will be opened to the public this week.
