New visitation guidelines for Medical Center, Navicent Health

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – With the vast spread of the flu virus, Navicent Health issued new visitation policies for its facilities.

Effective immediately, children must be 12 or older to visit Medical Center Navicent Health, Medical Center of Peach County Navicent Health and Rehabilitation Hospital Navicent Health.

The decisions stems from information received by Navicent from the Centers of Disease Control and flu rates in the region.

Chief Medical and Clinical Officer of Navicent Health Dr. Fady Wanna said in a statement:

“The health of our patients and the community is the highest concern at Navicent Health. Our policies and actions are designed to protect those at greatest risk during the flu season.”

Navicent says anyone who has recently had the flu or currently have flu like symptoms should avoid going to public areas.
