New Navicent Children’s Hospital named after Macon philanthropist
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Macon got its first look at the new Navicent Children’s Hospital Tuesday morning.
It’ll be named after Beverly Knight Olson, who’s helping donate $5 million to the hospital, along with the Knight Foundation.
Olson’s volunteered at the children’s hospital for more than 25 years.
“This has been a dream of Navicent and the Macon community for years, literally for years, so to see that dream start to come true it is beyond words, so exciting,” Ellen Terrell, Chief Development Officer at the Navicent Health Foundation said.
The new hospital will be built on Pine Street in downtown Macon.
