New Macon homeowner comes home, finds dead dogs, cats
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A new Macon homeowner stepped inside his house to find dead dogs and cats.
The house is on North Pine Knolls Drive.
The homeowner called police at about 3:30 Tuesday afternoon after he went inside and found a dead dog just inside his doorway.
As he continued, he found other dead dogs and cats as well as kennels.
The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office found the previous owner of the home was 50-year-old Catherine Smith, and called Macon-Bibb Animal Welfare out to the house.
Deputies arrested Smith and charged her with 13 counts of animal cruelty.
She was taken to the Bibb County Law Enforcement Complex with a bond of $74,100.
