Navicent Health generates $1.5 billion to state’s economy

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Navicent Health hospitals in Bibb and Peach Counties brought in more than $1.5 billion in revenue for the local and state economy.

According to a report from the Georgia Hospital Association, the state’s largest hospital trade association, the hospitals provided almost $70 million in uncompensated care while sustaining approximately 12,000 full-time jobs through both Bibb and Peach Counties and the rest of the state in 2013.

“Beyond providing care for the communities we serve, Navicent Health also plays a vital role in ensuring the economic health of our region,” Dr. Ninfa Saunders, President and CEO of Navicent Health, said in a news release.
