Navicent Health awarded StormReady certification

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/ WMGT) – The National Weather Service is recognizing Medical Center, Navicent Health for its severe weather preparedness.

Today, NWS awarded the hospital with StormReady certification.

Navicent Health’s Emergency Management and Safety Manager Steve Ramsey said the hospital has built resiliency within its staff.

“Our staff are all over the hospital. They’re all over our community. So we [have] to ensure that wherever they may be that they can be pulled back in [to work], and they can be communicated to,” he said.

The hospital’s emergency management team relies on early warnings, staying connected to the National Weather Service, and local weather reports to make sure the hospital is ready for severe weather or other potential threats, according to Ramsey.
