Multiple drive-by shootings at Macon home leaves family frustrated
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – One Macon family says they are fed up after their house was a target of a drive by shooting, not once….but twice.
Now, the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating, and the family says they just want answers.
“One would shoot, boom, boom, boom, and the other one would come in and boom, boom, boom, boom,” One homeowner said.
A Macon couple and their two kids say it’s like a nightmare that won’t end.
Gunshots going off at two in the morning while they were asleep.
Bullet holes and shattered glass cover the entire first floor of this house on the corner of Hillcrest Ave and Habersham Road.
The homeowners, who didn’t want to show their faces, say they’re frustrated.
“Not even a month. I haven’t even paid the first note…and I’m getting shot at,” the homeowner said.
An incident report filed with the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office estimates the damage at around $1100.
What makes matter worse, it’s second time the house has been targeted in ten days.
Now the homeowners are worried about their family’s safety.
“The first time they came by and shot the bullets through the door, I had my grand kids were over here. It’s just that by chance, they weren’t in the living room,” the homeowners said.
Neighbors say the area it usually pretty calm.
“It’s a quiet street. The neighbor over there say it’s a very quiet street, but I don’t know what’s going on now,” one homeowner said.
The owners have unanswered questions, and they’re hoping someone puts a stop to violence.
The Bibb sheriff’s office says it’s too early to tell if the incident is gang related, but they aren’t ruling that out yet. As for the homeowners, they say they don’t know if they’ll continue to stay in the neighborhood.
