MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – There will be one more sunny day for Middle Georgia before clouds arrive courtesy of Tropical Storm Francine.

This Evening

Partly to mostly cloudy skies from the afternoon will give way to mostly clear conditions overnight. It will feel like an autumn night as most spots in Middle Georgia drop into the lower 60s. One or two spots may go below 60 degrees. Ambient wind will generally blow from the east at around 5 mph.

Skies will be mostly sunny for much of the day around Middle Georgia, however high clouds will begin to move in from the southwest during the afternoon and evening. Highs will reach the mid to upper 80s as wind blows from the east-northeast at 5-12 mph, gusting upwards of 20 mph.

Overnight cloud cover will begin to ramp up, however no rain is expected.  Lows will drop into the mid 60s as wind continues from the east-northeast at 5-10 mph.

The Tropics

Tropical Storm Francine has formed in the Gulf of Mexico. It is expected to make landfall as a Category 1 Hurricane in Louisiana on Wednesday. While the stronger impacts will remain west of the Peach State, Francine will bring plenty of rain opportunities to end the week/over the weekend.

There are also two areas to monitor in the Atlantic Basic closer to the west coast of Africa. Both of these have a greater than 50% chance to become tropical depressions over the next 7 days.
