More heat likely Thursday

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Temperatures will largely get into the 90s Thursday afternoon around Middle Georgia.
This Evening
A partly sunny day will clear out some through the evening and into the night, however a handful of clouds will likely still be overhead after sunset. A few showers or storms will also be possible through the evening and into tonight. Expect low temperatures to be in the low to mid 60s accompanied by light and variable winds.
Tomorrow
There should be less clouds than Wednesday tomorrow afternoon and rain odds will still be low, however a couple showers or a storm cannot be ruled out in the afternoon. Highs will largely eclipse 90 degrees around the region however a few spots may only reach the upper 80s. Wind will remain light and variable.
Overnight will be mostly clear with the wind resolving out of the east-southeast around 5 mph. Lows will again be in the low to mid 60s across the region.
Friday and The Weekend
Partly sunny conditions are likely to end the week and roll into the weekend with highs staying in the upper 80s and lower 90s. A few spotty showers or a storm will be possible, especially Saturday afternoon.
The Tropics
Gabrielle has formed in the Atlantic Ocean to the east of the US. It is expected to move northwest before turning more north. It should stay clear of the Southeast US however that cannot yet be ruled out for the Mid-Atlantic/Northeast US. There are two other areas to also watch just off the west coast of Africa with 20% odds to develop into a depression within the next 7 days.
