MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A warm front passing through the southeastern US Thursday will lead to more clouds, heat, and humidity around Middle Georgia Thursday.

This Evening

High cirrus clouds have been present over Middle Georgia once again this afternoon and will remain in the area into tonight. Some mid level clouds will likely move in during the overnight hours, however things will not become overcast. Expect low temperatures in the upper 30s and lower 40s as the wind mainly flows from the north-northwest around 5 mph overnight.

Thursday will be partly cloudy with highs across much of Middle Georgia reaching into the lower 70s. Southeast wind will flow at 5-10 mph with gusts ranging up to around 17 mph. It will be a great day to get outside if the recent cold temperatures have left you feeling down.

Overnight will also be warmer as more cloud cover fills in. Expect the wind to flow from the south at 7-12 mph, gusting to around 20 mph through the night. An isolated shower cannot be ruled out, but rain should hold off until Friday during the afternoon. Low temperatures will be in the upper 40s and lower 50s.

Friday

An incoming cold front will bring some thunderstorms and rain Friday afternoon. Severe weather is not expected, however the southwestern counties of the region could end up included in a Level 1 Marginal risk by the time Friday arrives. Limited return flow Thursday will help to keep dew points a bit lower across the board, however, limiting instability and assisting in keeping storms more tame.

Outside of the storms though there will be plenty of wind as gusts will likely push over 30 mph with sustained southwest flow coming in at 10-20 mph. Rain should taper in the evening with cloud cover working to clear out ahead of Saturday morning.
