During the early hours of Thursday the winds will become variable, ultimate shifting to the southeast ahead of lunchtime. Wind will remain out of that direction through the rest of the day with speeds of about 5-10 mph. There will be plenty of sun early on, however high clouds will begin to move in during the afternoon with mid-level clouds starting to arrive in the evening. Expect high temperatures to reach the mid to upper 70s around Middle Georgia.

Tomorrow night will be mostly cloudy and warmer with lows expected in the mid to upper 50s rolling into Friday. While a couple of showers will be possible before midnight, more widespread rain shouldn’t arrive until the hours leading up to the sunrise Friday morning. Winds will come from the east-southeast at about 5-12 mph.

Friday and Beyond

Friday looks like a washout of a day with widespread rain expected over the first half of the day, then showers and thunderstorms possible in the evening and overnight. A low pressure system will move right through the Peach State, leading to some strong winds overnight Friday and into Saturday. These will be variable until they settle out of the north Saturday morning.

Saturday will be mostly cloudy with scattered showers likely over the first half of the day. While rain should subside in the evening, cloud cover will not break until the overnight hours and into Sunday morning. Sunday will be nice, sunny, and a bit breezy following in the wake of the low pressure system as it moves out.
