Scattered cumulus clouds from the late afternoon hours will largely clear heading into the overnight hours, however a few should stick around. Ambient wind will largely continue from the northwest save for the southeastern counties where it comes from the southwest instead. Overnight lows should primarily be in the low 70s, however one or two upper 60s will be possible in the northwestern counties. Expect scattered cirrus clouds to move in overnight.

A layer of low level clouds will likely fill in during the morning, making for a slightly muggier start. These will clear out in the late morning before scattered cumulus clouds return during the lunch hours. Most of Middle Georgia will not see rain, however a few isolated storms will be possible during the afternoon and evening. Expect highs in the lower 90s with winds coming from the north-northeast at 5-10 mph.

The Tropics

Tropical Storm Ernesto will either graze Puerto Rico with a landfall or just miss it later this evening. Hurricane strength is expected for the storm once it is past Puerto Rico to the north. It should stay out to sea as a Low Pressure system that will cross the northeastern US this weekend picks it up early next week.
