Monroe County Sheriff’s Office recovers stolen vehicles; 2 arrested, 1 on the run
Two people are in custody and deputies are looking for a third person after multiple auto break-ins late Wednesday night in the River Forest and Riata subdivisions in Monroe County.

MONROE COUNTY, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — Two people are in custody and deputies are looking for a third person after multiple auto break-ins late Wednesday night in the River Forest and Riata subdivisions in Monroe County.
According to the sheriff’s office, deputies responded to calls about entering autos in River Forest Subdivision around 11:20 p.m. When they arrived, they recovered two abandoned vehicles, which they determined were stolen. Shortly afterward, more reports came in from Riata Subdivision, where witnesses reporting seeing “approximately” three suspects in a black Ford Mustang.
Using Flock Safety cameras, deputies tracked the Mustang to Butts County. There, the Butts County Sheriff’s Office attempted a traffic stop, but the vehicle fled. That resulted in a short chase that ended in a crash. The three suspects ran.
Monroe County deputies used a drone to locate and arrest the first suspect, Jordan Antonio Brown. A second suspect, Jayhlen Knashaun Murphy, was caught later. Deputies are still looking for the third suspect, Andrew Mathew Howard.
Deputies say multiple stolen items were inside the vehicle.
