Monroe County Sheriff’s Office arrests two in separate drug busts

Two people were arrested this week after the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office executed multiple search warrants in connection to illegal drug activity, according to a news release from the sheriff’s office.

MONROE COUNTY, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Two people were arrested this week after the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office executed multiple search warrants in connection to illegal drug activity, according to a news release from the sheriff’s office.

Investigators searched a home on Strickland Loop, where they reported finding methamphetamine and heroin. Deputies arrested Jennifer Nicole Leach, who lived at the home. She’s charged her with possession of methamphetamine, trafficking heroin and tampering with evidence, according to the release.

Another search warrant was executed at a home on Gilmore Road, where investigators reported finding marijuana, ecstasy and drug-related objects. Antonio Shannon, who lived at the home, was arrested. He’s charged with possession of drug-related objects, possession of marijuana and possession with intent to distribute ecstasy, the sheriff’s office said.

Leach and Shannon are being held at the Monroe County Jail without bond.
