MONROE COUNTY, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A Monroe County firefighter suffered a minor injury on Thursday morning after a fire engine crashed en route to an auto accident call.
Monroe County Emergency Services (MCES) says the fire engine rolled onto its side in a ditch just before 7:30 on Abercrombie Road between Highway 42 and Highway 83.
“The incident investigation is still ongoing and thankfully, since he was wearing his seatbelt, our firefighter sustained only a minor injury to his hand,” MCES said in a Facebook post.
Other units were already responding to initial call, which was a minor accident with no reported injuries.
