Monroe County Emergency Services seeks donations after house fire
No one was injured, but the family lost all of their belongings.

MONROE COUNTY, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — Monroe County Emergency Services is asking for the public’s help after a family lost everything in a structure fire over the weekend in the River Walk subdivision.
The fire happened Saturday night and destroyed the family’s home. No injuries were reported, but the family lost all of their belongings.
According to a Facebook post from Monroe County Emergency Services on Monday, gift cards are the most needed donation so the family can purchase items as needs arise. Donations can also be dropped off at Station 1, located at 693 Juliette Road.
“Losing everything is always catastrophic, but especially at the holidays, it seems to hit even more so,” the post said.
Officials shared the following clothing and shoe sizes for family members:
The family includes two teenage sons, ages 14 and 17, two adult children ages 23 and 25, and both parents. The post also says the family has two Labrador retrievers. The family’s 25-year-old son recently returned from military service, both he and the 23-year-old daughter are in college and the 17-year-old son’s birthday is next week.
Monroe County Emergency Services says updates will be shared as they become available.
