Monroe County Sheriff’s Office investigating $48,000 Amazon scam theft

FORSYTH, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a theft involving a computer scam representing Amazon Security that resulted in more than $48,000 being stolen from a victim.

The sheriff’s office shared photos on its Facebook page Friday of the suspect and a possible vehicle involved in the scam. Deputies say the photos were taken around 7 p.m. on July 18 on Harold G. Clarke Parkway.

Deputies did not provide exact details of the scam.
