UPDATE (3/10/26): Dorthy Johnson has been found and is safe, according to a social media update from Fort Valley’s mayor.

Shakeena Reeves said in a Facebook post Tuesday that Johnson had been “safely located.”

“We extend our sincere appreciation to the dedicated men and women who worked diligently and collaboratively to bring this matter to a safe resolution,” the post said. “A special thank you to the Fort Valley Police Department Peach County 911, Peach County Sheriff’s Office, Warner Robins Police Department, Investigator Hall, and the Macon-Bibb County Sheriff’s Office for their swift action, coordination, and commitment to protecting the residents of our communities. We also want to thank the many community members who shared the alert, stayed watchful, and helped spread the word. Your willingness to come together in moments like this shows the true strength and compassion of our community. Together, we made a difference. Thank you all for your support!”

FORT VALLEY, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — Fort Valley police are asking for the public’s help locating 68-year-old Dorthy Johnson, who was last seen Sunday morning in Fort Valley, according to the city’s interim police chief.

Johnson was last seen around 9:30 a.m. Sunday at 109 Hartley Street in Fort Valley, according to a BOLO issued by the Fort Valley Police Department.

Police said Johnson was wearing a black shirt, a red hood or cap and black pants when she was last seen.

According to the BOLO, Johnson may have a medical condition that requires medication.

Police also received additional information Monday indicating Johnson may be in Houston County.
