Milledgeville Police Looking for Man Wanted for Bank Card Fraud
MILLEDGEVILLE, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Milledgeville police is asking for the public’s help to find a man officers say stole a bank card and used it to make fraudulent charges.
Major Reggie Hill tells 41NBC officers are looking for 27-year-old Demarcus Deshon Harris. Hill says the victim reached out to police on Saturday after giving Harris a ride in her car last Friday. She told officers she noticed her wallet was missing, notified her bank, and was told her card had been used at multiple businesses during the time frame her wallet was stolen.
Hill says Harris used the card Friday night at the Jet Food Store off Hancock Street and the final transaction was Saturday at the Dollar General. The manager of the Dollar General took the card and called police, but Harris got away before law enforcement arrived.
Officers identified Harris in the surveillance video from the Dollar General. Hill says he used the card multiple times at several different locations throughout Milledgeville.
MPD has arrest warrants out for Harris. He’s charged with eight counts of financial transaction card fraud and one count of financial transaction card theft.
Hill says the suspect is known to hang out in the Baldwin and Hancock County areas. Anyone with information on his whereabouts is urged to call MPD Detective Deidre Byrd at (478) 414-4415.
