Milledgeville police stop contraband drone drop on New Year’s Eve

Police say officers made DUI and drug arrests and seized a contraband drone during overnight patrols.

MILLEDGEVILLE, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Milledgeville police say New Year’s Eve passed without any major incidents across the city.

According to a social media post from Milledgeville Police Department, officers maintained a proactive presence throughout the night and into the early morning hours. During that time, the post says officers made several arrests related to driving under the influence, narcotics possession and unlawful discharge of firearms within city limits.

Police also say K9 Diesel and the department’s drone unit disrupted a contraband drone drop intended for Baldwin State Prison.

Officers say they seized a contraband drone, more than $8,000 in cash, firearms and narcotics during the night.
