Milledgeville man arrested for armed robbery, arson
MILLEDGEVILLE, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A Milledgeville man was arrested for robbing a man at gunpoint on Saturday night.
24-year-old Terrance Turner is accused of holding a gun to a victim’s head and taking his pistol on Pritchard Street.
The victim and his friend were doing work on a car. The victim told officers Turner approached them and started a “casual conversation” and then pulled out a gun.
Turner demanded the victim to hand over a pistol.
After getting away, police found Turner in an Applebee’s. Officers put him in handcuffs. Turner managed to run away, but was quickly caught.
“He ran through the parking lot and through the driveway at Exchange Bank. That’s when BCSO deputies assisted and we were able to take him back into custody,” Major Michael Hudson said in a news release.
Once in police custody, officers say Turner was placed in a holding cell where he used a lighter to set his own money on fire.
He’s charged with armed robbery, misdemeanor escape, and arson.
Turner is in the Baldwin County jail.
