Milledgeville dentist arrested, following police raid at home and office
Roy Lehrman, 61, was arrested Wednesday, at his Sussex Drive home. He is charged, with felony theft by deception.
Officers searched the house and his office located at 530 West Thomas Street.
According to police Lehrman is accused of neglecting his mother. He had Power of Attorney over her estate. Now, investigators want to know what happened to the woman’s more than a half million dollars.
Milledgeville police investigators discovered Lehrman’s mother “basic needs were not being provided by her son,” while living at the Savannah Courts Retirement Home.
Detective Scott Goodwin interviewed the victim and found out she was also in the process of being evicted from the retirement home.
“We spoke with personnel at the Savannah Courts Retirement Home and learned that M. Lehrman’s rent hadn’t been paid for several months,” said Major Reggie Hill.
She has since, moved from the retirement home to live with relatives in Indiana.
Police say their joint investigation, with the Adam’s County Sheriff’s Office, began in the summer, with an inquiry from the Georgia Department of Human Services, Division of Aging Services.
Lehrman was released from the Baldwin County Jail on a $50,000 property bond.
