Milledgeville Chamber Promotes Business with T-Shirt Tuesday

MILLEDGEVILLE, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A unique way of promoting and advertising for local businesses is underway in Milledgeville.

Now, every Tuesday, the Milledgeville-Baldwin Chamber of Commerce will wear the T-shirt of businesses in the area in a promotion fittingly called T-shirt Tuesday.

“As a chamber we’re always looking for new and exciting ways to promote our member businesses,” Angie Martin, CEO of the Milledgeville-Baldwin Chamber said.

On the first “T-shirt Tuesday,” the ladies in the office were wearing shirts for 97 Big FM and one of their popular summer events. Walter Reynolds, the programming director for 97 Big FM, stopped by the Chamber of Commerce to check out if the Chamber would keep their word and have his business’ shirts on. Sure enough, they were.

“The big prize that people love to get their hands on is our T-shirt,” Reynolds said. “Everyone wants to grab one so we figured this would be the perfect way to show all the chamber members and all their social media followers our handsome shirts.”

The Chamber plans on wearing the shirts every Tuesday until they stop receiving them. It could be a long time, considering there are approximately 450 member businesses.

We always tell folks you’re going to get out of the chamber what you put into it,” Martin said. “We love participation and we love to highlight your businesses.”
