Milledgeville lifts boil water advisory after state testing clears water
City officials say water testing showed safe results following Thursday’s main break.

MILLEDGEVILLE, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The City of Milledgeville says a boil water advisory issued Thursday has been lifted after water testing showed it is safe to drink.
According to a news release from the city’s Water and Sewer Department, the Georgia Environmental Protection Division approved rescinding the advisory Friday after bacteriological sampling produced favorable results.
The lifted advisory covers Blandy Road from Oak Hill Middle School to Georgia Highway 49; the Allenwood subdivision, including Allenwood Road, Hickory Drive, Beechwood Circle, Sycamore Road, White Oak Lane, Allenwood Circle, Willow Bend Way, Bay Valley Drive, Hilltop Court and Nature Creek Trail; Georgia Highway 49 from Blandy Road to the Highway 441 Bypass; and West Campus Drive.
The advisory was issued Thursday after a water main break. Baldwin County School District schools released students early on Thursday before returning to a normal schedule on Friday.
