Middle Georgia Regional Library celebrates Library Card Sign-up Month
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT)- September is National Library Card Sign-Up Month, and the Middle Georgia Regional Library is encouraging residents to take advantage of it.
Each Macon location will offer library tours and card sign up on designated days throughout the month.
Jeanne Peloquin, the Middle Georgia Regional Library marketing coordinator, says this month is a time to reflect on the value that libraries bring to the communities.
“We’re really thrilled this year because a number of Macon businesses have come on board to really affirm that value, and they’re giving deals and discounts for people who just show their library card when they come to those businesses,” Peloquin said.
Residents can also get a new or replacement card during the library’s hours of operation.
Middle Georgia Regional Library offers free cards to all Georgia residents. However, they must show a photo ID and provide proof of residence.
New and current cardholders can also register to win prizes at each branch.
