Middle Georgia Drug Arrests
WARNER ROBINS, Ga. (AP) – Authorities say they’ve arrested more than 50 suspects since Monday in an ongoing drug investigation in Middle Georgia.
Warner Robins police say more than 70 arrest warrants have been issued for mostly drug offenses, with 53 people arrested and others being sought. They say more arrests are expected.
The Telegraph of Macon reports (http://bit.ly/1R3Vlo9) that other agencies involved in the investigation include the Houston County Sheriff’s Office; Perry Police Department; and Houston County District Attorney’s Office.
Warner Robins police spokeswoman Jennifer Parson said the probe involves cocaine and several prescription drugs such as hydrocodone, oxycodone and Xanax.
The Macon newspaper reports that most suspects live in Warner Robins and other parts of Houston County. Others arrested live in Georgia towns including Hawkinsville, Griffin, McRae and Locust Grove.
