Middle Georgia Certus Bank branches sold

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) –  Certus Bank is closing, but some of its branches in Middle Georgia will be sold and operate under a different name.

Morris Bank, a Dublin base company, will buy the Warner Robins branch. Bank customers can expect the transition to happy by the end of September.

“We welcome Certus’s customers and Warner Robins-based employees to the Morris Bank family. We’ve served customers in the Houston County market for the past several years and look forward to expanding our relationships with not only current Morris and Certus customers, but all of Houston County. We believe when high-touch community banking is joined with local, quick decisions, customers benefit,” Morris Bank President and CEO Spence Mullis said.

Community Southern Bank will take over a total of 15 locations in Georgia and Florida. This is expected to be completed by the end of the year.

“We are very excited to announce this strategic transaction with CertusBank. This transaction significantly increases our market share throughout Georgia and provides us with exposure to several new markets, including Columbus, Macon, and Jacksonville, Florida.  This is an outstanding transaction for Community & Southern and our shareholders,” said Pat Frawley, Chief Executive Officer of CSB. “I am very pleased to welcome our new CertusBank clients to CSB.  Offering sound financial solutions combined with the utmost integrity and exceptional banking expertise is the foundation upon which CSB was formed and we are proud to have the opportunity to serve our new clients and our new markets.”
