Mercer’s Bridges named SoCon Player of the Week
Bridges averaged 17.3 points, 6.7 rebounds and 4.3 assists per game in three games since the holiday break. The senior recorded 23 points, eight rebounds and six assists on December 29 at Jacksonville State. She followed with 13 points and seven rebounds on New Year’s Day at North Florida. Bridges concluded the three-game stretch with 16 points and five rebounds against Florida A&M on January 5.
The native of West Palm Beach, Fla. leads the conference in scoring at 21.8 points per game and is the only player in the league with two games of at least 30 points this season. She claims the weekly honor for the second time in her first season in the SoCon.
The Bears will conclude non-conference play on Tuesday as they make the short trip to Kennesaw State to take on the Golden Owls at 7 p.m. at Convocation Center.
