Mercer University releases inaugural Middle Georgia economic outlook survey

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT)- Mercer’s School of Business and Economics published its first survey on the region.

The research shows so far this year, construction and healthcare industries have made the most money. Analysts also say the economy overall still needs work.

“What is going to move this region forward is attracting not only businesses to come to this region, but attracting people to live in this region,” Dr. Aleksander Tomic said.

The university wants to start publishing an economic survey every quarter of the year. Researchers will use this data to advise industries and local governments on ways to improve.
