Mercer students are set to make some noise in Atlanta at the Georgia Tech game
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – On the campus of Mercer University, it seems like everyone is talking about the big game. There is a buzz about the Bears.
Mercer student Kenerly Gordon says, “I think everyone is excited we have been talking about since last semester.”
The game is huge. The Mercer Bears for the first in their modern football era will be facing an FBS opponent when they play the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets in Atlanta.
Students are fired up. Gordon adds, “I think going to the game is a great opportunity to show my Mercer spirit along with my friends in Atlanta that are also coming. It’s a great opportunity to see history being made.
Apparently, everyone wants to see history being made. More than 800 students will be packing into 15 buses heading to the game at Bobby Dodd Stadium. Hundreds of other students say they making the hour and half trip driving. Everyone we spoke to believe the Bears will devour the Yellow Jackets.
Mercer University student Alex Armstrong says, “We are going to go up there give it our best scream. We will scream our hearts out and hopefully at the end of the game we will be on top.”
The football is Saturday at 3 PM.
