Mercer students host public art tour in Macon
Friday evening, Mercer University students treated people to walking tours as an extension of an art class project.
The students spent a semester researching and putting together an online database of Macon’s public art, and they’re expanding that project by taking people on guided tours of downtown.
“We also want to make culturally aware of the Cox Capitol Theatre, the Cherry Blossom Festival and other aspects that make our community so great,” said Joshua Soave, student.
The students are hoping to continue the tours once a month on First Fridays.
