Mercer nursing professor appointed to the Georgia Ebola Response Team
ATLATNA, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Governor Nathan Deal appointed a Mercer University associate professor to serve on the state’s Ebola Response Team.
Brenda Rowe, M.N., R.N., J.D. is part of the 14-person team chaired by Georgia Department of Public Health Commissioner Dr. Brenda Fitzgerald.
The Georgia Ebola Response Team is composed of leaders in health, research communities, and state agencies. It was created by executive order to assess current state health and emergency management procedures and produce any necessary recommendations to minimize any potential impact of the disease in Georgia.
The team is meeting this week to immediately begin issuing recommendations to the governor.
Rowe is a tenured faculty members of the Georgia Baptist College of Nursing on Mercer’s Cecil B. Day Graduate and Professional Campus in Atlanta. She has taught there since 1992.
