Mercer football season tickets on sale Monday

MACON, Ga. (MERCER ATHLETICS RELEASE) – The Mercer University Athletic Department is set to release season ticket sales for the 2014 football season the general public beginning Monday, May 19 at 10 a.m.

Packages include tickets to all seven home games in 2014 at a cost of $100 per package. Due to a limited supply, fans are encouraged to visit tickets.mercer.edu to secure their tickets in a timely manner.

Mercer is set to make its debut in the Southern Conference after completing the 2013 season with a 10-2 overall record and 6-2 mark in Pioneer Football League play. The Bears will welcome the addition of 20 newcomers in 2014 as the team makes its transition into Division I scholarship football.

Last season, Mercer boasted an attendance average of 9,379 for its eight home games. The team’s season opener against Reinhardt on August 31, 2013 drew 12,172 patrons to Mercer University Stadium.

Mercer’s seven-game 2014 home schedule kicks off with the season opener against Reinhardt on August 28. The Bears will also play host to Furman (Sept. 6), Ave Maria (Sept. 20), Austin Peay (Oct. 11), Western Carolina (Oct. 18), The Citadel (Nov. 1) and Warner (Nov. 15).
