Mercer basketball’s Matt Panaggio to transfer

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Redshirt freshman guard Matt Panaggio will transfer out of the Mercer men’s basketball program.

Head coach Bob Hoffman announced the news Monday.

“We are excited for Matt and his future,” Hoffman said in a statement released by the school. “Matt was a great teammate and student athlete here at Mercer and helped our program reach new levels of success over the past two seasons. We wish Matt nothing but the best as he moves forward with his basketball and academic career.”

Panaggio played in 29 games last season, totaling 18 points, 23 rebounds, nine assists and four steals.
