Mentors Project of Bibb County celebrates Thanksgiving with seniors

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Senior citizens in Macon got a chance to enjoy some music, food and fun on Tuesday.

From dancing, singing and building ginger bread houses, they were all smiles.

Mentors from the Mentors Project of Bibb County visited seniors at the Macon City Senior Citizens Center for the 18th annual Thanksgiving with the seniors. It was a chance for the youth to lift up the seniors’ spirits and let them know they’re loved.

June O’Neal with the Mentors Project says, “It’s a good time for the children to learn to give back and it is a wonderful time to hear the stories that the senior citizens have to share with our young people.”

The mentors project provided groceries in concert with the Middle Georgia Community Food Bank and Kroger.
