Medical Monday: Heat-related injuries for athletes
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Heat-related injuries for athletes can be especially dangerous.
The summer months are hot in Georgia, and it’s important to stay hydrated and make sure your electrolytes are where they need to be.
Dr. Nicole Haig-Jasper from Coliseum Health System joins 41NBC to talk more about it.
She says drinking Gatorade while you’re outside practicing or working out will help keep your body cool.
She says you can suffer from heat exhaustion or heat stroke if you don’t stay hydrated.
