Medical marijuana, autism bill passes through Georgia senate unanimously
The bill, written by State Representative Allen Peake, legalizes an oil form of medical marijuana for people with severe seizure disorders.
Last week, a senate committee voted to rename the bill the Kids Care Act, coupling it with a senate bill that provides for more extensive insurance coverage for autism patients.
The legislation must pass in the house by midnight Thursday in order for it to become law this year.
