Skelly gets hat trick, Mayhem beats Huntsville 4-2

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Shawn Skelly recorded the first hat trick in Mayhem history Sunday as Macon beat Huntsville 4-2.

Macon is now five points ahead of rival Columbus for the Southern Professional Hockey League’s last playoff spot.

Skelly scored in the first and second periods to give Macon a 2-0 lead before Huntsville tied it up.

In the third, Zack Josepher put the Mayhem ahead with 5:04 to go. Skelly scored his third goal on an empty net.

Macon is home again Thursday against Pensacola. The puck drops at 7:30.
