Martin wins Cochran Pure Stock feature, takes home $3,000
Despite several caution flags for accidents throughout the race, Martin managed to keep the lead after every restart.
With less than ten laps to go, Jason Floyd made a move to Martin’s outside but couldn’t quite make the pass.
Bubba Howell passed Floyd on the last lap to take second.
About halfway through the 30-lap event, Martin’s car began smoking, but it didn’t seem to affect his speed.
“I feel like it was a valve cover gasket,” Martin said after the race. “I could smell it. Some of it was burning, some if it wasn’t. I just figured if the oil pressure wasn’t burnt out, I was just going to let it ride.”
