Man shot dead outside Houston County mobile home

HOUSTON COUNTY, (41NBC/WMGT) – A man is dead after being shot at a Houston County trailer park Thursday morning.

The Houston County Sheriff’s Office says 23-year-old Curtis Thomas died from a single gunshot wound to the chest. He was found at 100 Maplewood Dr. in Pinewood Village Mobile Home Park.

Investigators say Thomas lived about a half mile from where he was shot. They don’t have anyone in custody but are following leads.

Some neighbors say they heard several shots, but investigators couldn’t confirm and aren’t releasing any other information.

Rodney Baldwin Jr. lives close to where Thomas was shot. He has surveillance footage on his home.

“All I’ve seen is school buses from 7 o’clock up until now, but other than that I’ve been told not to say too much,” Baldwin said.

The Houston County Sheriff’s Office is asking anyone with information to call 478-542-2080. 41NBC will continue to follow this investigation.
