UPDATE: Man identified in fatal I-75 tractor-trailer crash in Macon
Investigators say the driver lost control of a tractor-trailer before it struck an embankment and overturned on Interstate 75.

UPDATE (3/10/2026): The driver has been identified as 42-year-old Daniel Arnold, according to Macon-Bibb County Coroner Leon Jones.
Coroner Jones said the next of kin has been notified.

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — A driver was killed Monday night after a tractor-trailer crashed and overturned on Interstate 75 southbound near the Riverside Drive exit.
According to a Bibb County Sheriff’s Office news release, the crash happened just before 8 p.m.
Investigators said the driver appeared to lose control of the vehicle and struck an embankment before the truck overturned.
Deputies found the driver dead inside the vehicle, according to the sheriff’s office.
The driver’s identity has not been released. The sheriff’s office said the name will be released after family is notified.
One southbound lane of Interstate 75 is open at the time of this report, the sheriff’s office said in its release. 511GA.org showed traffic delays in the area and an anticipated clearing time of 11 p.m.
