Man found shot to death in yard on Sussex Drive in Macon

Deputies say a homeowner discovered the victim Sunday morning and called for help.

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating after a man was found shot to death in a front yard on Sussex Drive Sunday morning.

Deputies said they responded to the 1800 block of Sussex Drive just before 8 a.m. and found 30-year-old Aubrey Randall Williams with a gunshot wound. A homeowner discovered Williams in the yard and called for help, according to the sheriff’s office.

Deputy Coroner Lonnie Miley pronounced Williams dead at the scene. Investigators confirmed Williams did not live at the location, and his family has been notified.

Investigators are working to determine what led up to the shooting.
