Man drowns in Flint River

ROBERTA, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A 21-year old man drowned in the Flint River. The Crawford County Sheriff’s office responded to a call of a person drowning Thursday night at the boat ramp on Highway 96 near the Taylor County Line.

Rescue crews from Crawford, Byron, Taylor and the Department of Natural Resources searched the river and found the body around 1:54 a.m. Friday morning.

The body is being sent to the G.B.I. crime lab for an autopsy.

The name of the victim has not been released.

The Department of Natural Resources and the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office is investigating.
